The English Language Academy at Atlanticside College offers a wide range of English language courses for students aged 16 years and over. We offer English language courses at all levels to suit students at every stage in their learning experience. Students can choose from a range of quality English language courses with small class groups in a warm friendly learning environment. All of our Language programmes focuse on practising and improving language skills including reading, writing, speaking and listening. On completion, students will have improved grammar, extended vocabulary and better use of English in a business context. In line with CEF (The Common European Framework) we offer the most effective method for teaching English Language and achieving the highest level of results.
English Language Academy at Atlanticside College is accredited by ACELS, the Advisory Council for English Language Schools in Ireland and now part of the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland.
One-to One language tuition
At the Language Academy we run private tuition in all areas of English language all
year round. Our courses are held by native speakers and qualified teachers. Tuition
can take place in the college or place of work. Classes will be tailored to students’
requirements. Days, times and duration are flexible.
Group language tuition
This course has been designed for International student groups attending short one
or two week courses of English. Classes consist of 15 hours per week in classes of no
more than 15 students. Classes start in the college at 9.30 a.m. Monday to Friday, with
a full afternoon programme of Social, Cultural and Adventure activities. All afternoon
programmes are tailored to the needs of the groups. Host family or residential
accommodation is provided by the college which includes full board. Group transport is
also provided during the stay which includes airport collection and drop-off.
Weekend Intensive language skills
These courses are developed specifically for Senior and Middle Managers, Professional
and Senior Technical People who need to enhance their Verbal Communication, Report
Writing and Presentation Skills in English. Tuition can take place in the college or place
of work.
English for Special Purposes
At the Language Academy we also run special tuition programmes in all areas of
English language relating to the business world, including the following:

- Medicine and Nursing
- Sales and Marketing
- Travel and Tourism
General & Business English
The General Business English classes are provided for students wishing to transfer into
a third-level business programme but need to upgrade their level of English in order to
gain entry. These classes are specifically geared towards students with IELTS levels of
4.0% and who wish to achieve a higher level.
English Language Academy at Atlanticside offers tailor made Langage programmes for groups of International students designed to meet their needs, their budget and their requirements. At Atlanticside we arrange host family / residential accommodation, cultural, social and sporting programmes in addition to the English Language tuition.
